In the autumn of 2025, our skilled SOME team, Guro, Pia and Trine, took SkiGeilo on a SkiGeilo City Tour - from Oslo and Bergen, and all the way to London. With smiles, commitment and solid Geilo knowledge, they met curious people who wanted to hear more about ski holidays in Geilo, and in Norway.
In London, the interest was particularly great. Over 2000 Brits stopped for a chat about skiing, winter and mountain holidays - many with good memories of Geilo from before, and others who discovered us for the first time. The conversations were about snow-sure winters, real mountain atmosphere and why more and more people choose Norway over the Alps.
Also in Oslo and Bergen, SkiGeilo City Tour created engagement, with many nice meetings and good conversations with both Norwegian and international winter guests.
SkiGeilo City Tour aimed to create awareness of Geilo as a destination, and the interest we met along the way confirmed what we already know - Geilo is a destination that arouses curiosity and desire to travel in many.
Through meetings, conversations and activities, thousands of people got an insight into what Geilo has to offer, both winter and summer. Although it is difficult to measure the exact impact of a physical event, we experienced great interest from both visitors and tourism operators.
