Frequently asked questions about KidsClub
What is KidsClub at SkiGeilo?
KidsClub is a collection of activities for children and families at Geilo, from daily play on the slopes to training sessions, evening sledging and family fun, led by experienced ski instructors.
From what age can my child take part?
Age limits vary from activity to activity, from around 3 to 15 years old. The youngest join the family activities together with an adult, while children from age 5 can take part on their own.
Does my child need to know how to ski?
No. Several activities, such as Snowplay, family sledging and KidsDisco, require no skiing skills at all. Others, such as KidsPatrol and Kids Slalom Training, require the child to be able to safely ski green or blue runs on their own.
What happens if too few children sign up for an activity?
Some activities require a minimum number of participants. If we don't reach it, or the weather stops us, we'll let you know by the evening before at the latest and offer a new date or a full refund.
Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend it. That way your spot is secured, and you count towards whether an activity has enough sign-ups to run. Drop-in is possible if there's space, but then we can't guarantee a spot — or that the activity will run at all, since only advance bookings count towards the minimum number. Spaces are limited, and during winter and Easter holidays most activities fill up in advance.
Is there a season pass discount?
Yes, season pass holders get a 20% discount on all KidsClub activities and can take part in KidsRenn for free.
Are any activities free?
Yes, KidsDisco is free for everyone.
Do we need to stay with our child as parents?
It depends on the activity. For Snowplay, Skiplay, WeekendSki, KidsPatrol, KidsPark, Kids Slalom Training and KidsRenn, you drop your child off at the meeting point and pick them up there afterwards. The family activities — sledging, the treasure hunt, the bonfire evenings and KidsDisco — are designed for the whole family to join together.
Can siblings of different ages take part at the same time?
Often, yes. Snowplay and Skiplay run at the same time and place, so children at different skill levels can be dropped off and picked up together. If your children are, say, 3–4 and 7 years old, you'll instead need to combine a family activity with a children's activity — they run at different times.
Do the kids get food or drink during the activities?
On selected evening activities, warm food and drink are included. During the day activities, snacks and drinks can be bought at all three base areas: Kikut, Vestlia and Havsdalen.
