Car and Taxi

Geilo is easy to access by car and there are several routes to choose from depending on you starting point.

By car

From Bergen:
Drive Route 7 over Hardangervidda or Highway 50 between Aurland and Hol.
Travel time: about 3.5 to 4 hours.

From Haugesund:
Drive E134 to Odda, then R13 Eidfjord and continue on R7 to Geilo.
Travel time: about 5 to 5.5 hours.

From Oslo:
Take E16 to Hønefoss and follow Route 7 through Hallingdal.
Travel time: 3 hours and 15min

From Larvik:
Follow Highway 40 through Numedal, past Kongsberg. If you arrive by ferry from Denmark to Larvik og Kristiansand, this is the shortest road.
Travel time: 4 to 4.5 hours
